<description>I have a beautiful female Border Collie who is 8 months old.

She began limping a couple of months ago and is getting worse.

She has been xrayed and it appears she has elbow displasia. Surgery has been recommended and she is on anti inflammatory tablets at the moment.

My question is surgery the right way to go and with 8 - 12 weeks recovery how on earth do we keep her from going insane. She is such an active dog who just wants to run and jump and play.

Please help
