She needs someone who can spend time training her, and I just don't have it. Would love to find a good home for her. I'm in Alabama.

I have a 2 yr. old white akita shp mix who is extremely loving but doesn’t do well with small animals, I think the akita hunting gene kicks in and she gets aggressive. They are definitely not your designer pretty pooch. I love the term you coined: Sh-akita.

I agree with Siobhan. I also have a 4 month old Shepherd Akita. A mixed breed can have its advantages such as the heterosis effect, which means a healthier dog without purbred/inbred problems. A person looking for a shepherd/akita is obviously not looking for a designer pretty pooch.my sh-akitas

Unfortunately no to many people will give a dog who has bitten a second chance. That being said, please people, keep shepherds shepherds and Akitas akitas. Both breeds are to noble and beautiful to ruin by crossing the two. Next you'll be wanting chi-weenies or peek-a-poos or something.

Rebecca,

Sorry to hear about your situation. I am trying to save them. A boy came in to our fenced yard and was bitten after running from the dogs in our yard. Animal Control would like us to put them to sleep, even though the boy was at fault.
Any help or advice would be appreciated...

I have three Japanese Akita that need a good home.<br

She was the best family pet we have ever owned. She didn't have the hip problems a normal sheperd has and she was so protective of our family. We are reluctant to look for another because we think we will never find another like her, but would love to see if we can. If there is one available we would love to see a picture of her, or cme and see her personally.

We had a sheperd akita mix femail for 15 yrs.
